Age: The upper age limit for Assistant Commissioner post is 34 years and District Educational Officer post is 42 years.

Educational Qualification: Assistant Commissioner – (i) Must possess any degree and also a degree of Bachelor of Law (3 years course) or a degree of Bachelor of Law (5 years Integrated course) of a University recognised by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its Grant. District Educational Officer: For Open Market candidates:- (i) A Master’s degree of any University recognized by the University Grants Commission in the State or a degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Geography, History, Commerce, Tamil and English and (ii) Should have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre-University Course or Higher Secondary Course and (iii) Bachelor of Teaching or Bachelor of Education of any recognized University in the State or a degree of equivalent standard.

For the Teacher candidates employed in recognized aided secondary schools and higher secondary schools:-

Qualified candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before they appear for the mains exam that they fulfil the requirements as to age, qualification, caste etc. and if found ineligible their candidature will be liable to be cancelled at any stage of recruitment process and thereafter.
