IBPS PO Notification 2024 – Apply Online for 4455 Probationary Officers Post
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially released the IBPS PO 2024 notification, announcing 4455 vacancies for the role of Probationary Officers (PO) across various public sector banks in India. Since its inception in 2011, the IBPS PO exam has been a key recruitment process for banking jobs. Now, in its 14th edition, the IBPS CRP PO/MT CRPF-XIV 2024 aims to recruit candidates for 11 public sector banks. The IBPS PO Recruitment 2024 applications are accepted from 1 August to 21 August 2024.

This year, the IBPS announced 4455 vacancies for the roles of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees. The maximum number of vacancies are available with the Central Bank of India.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2024
To be eligible for the IBPS PO 2024 exam, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India.
Age Limit: Candidates should be between 20 and 30 years of age as of August 1, 2024. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university by August 21, 2024. The degree should be recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification approved by the central government.

Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories:
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): 5 years
Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years
Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
Educational Qualification Details
Candidates must possess a valid degree certificate and mark sheet indicating they have graduated by the last date of application. The degree can be in any discipline, and there are no specific percentage requirements for the graduation degree.
IBPS Probationary Officers (PO) Application Fee 2024
The application fee varies by category:
SC/ST/PWD: Rs 175 (Intimation Charges only)
General and Others: Rs 850 (including intimation charges)
Fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable to other exams or selections.
IBPS PO Selection Process 2024
Online Preliminary Examination: Candidates are shortlisted based on category-specific requirements for the Main Examination.
Online Mains Examination: Candidates must clear both sectional and overall cutoffs to qualify for the interview.
Interview: Conducted by participating banks, coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/UT with IBPS support.
Final Result: Based on combined performance in Mains and Interview.
Provisional Allotment: Candidates are allotted banks based on preferences indicated during application. Joining procedures are managed by the respective banks.
IBPS PO Examination Pattern
The IBPS PO 2024 exam will be conducted in two phases: Preliminary and Main Examination.
Preliminary Examination Pattern
English Language: 30 questions (30 marks) – 20 minutes
Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions (35 marks) – 20 minutes
Reasoning Ability: 35 questions (35 marks) – 20 minutes
Each question carries one mark, and there is a sectional timing for each subject. Candidates must clear both sectional and overall cut-offs to qualify for the main examination.
Main Examination Pattern
Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 45 questions (60 marks) – 60 minutes
General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 40 questions (40 marks) – 35 minutes
English Language: 35 questions (40 marks) – 40 minutes
Data Analysis & Interpretation: 35 questions (60 marks) – 45 minutes
English Language (Letter Writing & Essay): 2 questions (25 marks) – 30 minutes
The main examination pattern includes both objective and descriptive tests. Candidates must score well in both sections to advance to the interview stage.
